HOW DO YOU SPELL FUN? - S.I.P. The SIP program offers community based recreational and socialization opportunities for adults with developmental disabilities. This program is geared toward individuals who may lack the resources to have socialization experiences on their own, such as bowling, dancing, and movies. Other activities include trips to community and area special events such as parades, fairs and festivals. The program puts smiles on the faces of 10 special participants. Five times a month the SIP bus pulls up to their homes and transports them to special community activities where they can enjoy each other's company and learn vaious skills at the same time. SIP is funded by the Tri-Counties Regional Center. Adaptive Dances Developmentally disabled participants ages 13 and up can enjoy a great evening of fun, music, dancing and friends. Snacks are provided. Dances are held once a month on a Friday night from 7:00-8:30 p.m. at the Lompoc Valley Community Center, 1501 E. Ocean Ave. Fee: $2.75 per person at the door. |
